Hakodate is the 3rd largest city in Hokkaido, after Sapporo and Asahikawa. Our leisurely drive from Noboribetsu took about 3 hours as we took our time and stopped for coffee along the way. We reached our hotel, Dormy Inn Express in the late evening. After checking in and freshening up, we headed out looking for dinner. We drove a short distance - it’s easy to get around in Hakodate, and found ourselves at Daimon Yokocho - food alleys serving local food. The eateries in Daimon Yokocho are … [Read more...]

TIGERLILY THAI RESTAURANT @ DC Mall, Damansara Town Centre
Damansara City Mall, affectionately abbreviated to “DC Mall” is located in Damansara Town Centre. The road leading to it is a bit convoluted and you may miss the turning into the mall and its carpark but nevertheless, the mall is slowly picking up its tempo as far as tenants are concerned. Take the escalator down to the LG Floor and before the echoes of your footsteps reverberate too long, the bright cheerful facade of TIGERLILY greets you like a warm glowing beacon in a spartan field. … [Read more...]

BOSS CURRY HOUSE, Bkt Rimau, Shah Alam
Right here in my neighbourhood there’s this curry house that has been serving crowds in its modest premises. Serving Chettinad-style mixed with other Southern Indian dishes, food here is displayed in vegetarian and non-vegetarian shelves. Service is brisk and friendly and together with the very decent dishes, so it’s not hard to see why this place has been packing in the crowds. We have tried both their lunch and breakfast offerings and have been impressed with the quality. A standard … [Read more...]

RETRO TAPAS BAR CAFE @ TREC Kuala Lumpur
Retro Tapas Bar Cafe is one of the latest additions to the long list of F&B outlets in TREC. Located at the Alcove section of TREC, this bar cafe occupies a quiet corner facing the main road. With its bright yellow and red furniture, you can’t miss it. I couldn’t help but be amused by the cute red swing hanging right in front of the cheerful-looking bar counter! I think that certainly comes in handy to give their guests some rigorous swings when things are slowing down. With the … [Read more...]

To say that Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson is huge is an understatement. When we visited this prime vacationing paradise located at the 12th mile of Jalan Pantai, Port Dickson, it’s like entering a whole exclusive mini township on its own. The immensely spacious reception Beyond the vast reception area, once we hopped onto the buggy that took us to our sea-view Panorama Pool Villa, I felt like we were transported into a retreat in another realm. The sheer size, design and indulgent luxury … [Read more...]
