In the blink of an eye, the Muslim holy month of Ramadhan has started – time really flew! Restaurants and eateries, big or small, are all geared up for the breaking of fast during this time.
At the Latest Recipe, Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur, Chef Budiman and his kitchen team are cooking up a dream feast featuring traditional dishes that are close to Malaysians’ hearts across the nation. This showcase, aptly named “Serambi Juadah Warisan Desa” features a host of cherished traditional gems like the wide selection of kerabu (Malay salads), bubur lambuk berempah Mikerhani, acar ikan masin (Chef Budiman’s mother’s recipe), rendang ayam pencen, pucuk ubi gulai lemak merah, daging panggang rempah arab, asam pedas, rendang merah utara, masak lemak cili api with rebung and ikan bakar air asam.
Can’t say No to all these seafood!
This year, there’s a special Le Cucur corner serving piping hot fried delicacies like banana fritters with Turkish ice cream drizzled with 3 different types of exotic honey: kamahi, rata or clover.
The must-have Roast Whole Lamb took centre-stage too. Marinated for 10 hours with all sorts of spices, it’s roasted for 2 hours and then steam-baked for 30 minutes to seal in the juices. There’s a never-ending queue at this counter!
Check out the Noodles Station for these yummy noodles!
Besides all the special traditional Malay dishes in this showcase, all the regular favourites of the famous Latest Recipe buffet are available, like their ever-popular teppanyaki and sushi counters and don’t forget their sumptuous Indian fares.

Do save some room for the desserts. The chefs have really outdone themselves here. There are several counters groaning with endless varieties of traditional kuihs and cookies, in addition to the regular desserts. My never-miss item here is their signature Serawa Durian (durian gravy) which only appears on the buffet at this time of the year, eaten with roti jala. If you are a durian lover, don’t miss this!
Gateway to happiness!
