This place has been making the rounds in social media lately – Facebook, Instagram, Tik-Tok all have featured Wartek. Opened just a few months ago and located in a rather obscure spot in Ara Damansara, this cosy set-up has been packing in the crowds.
We were there for lunch on a week day and the place quickly filled up after 12pm. Most of the dishes have been pre-cooked and served in deep glass dishes at the counter while some of the fried stuff were continuously fried from the kitchen.
We tried some of their signature items like Nasi Uduk Bebek Goreng and Soto Batawi and they were pretty decent. As the portions were on the small side, we ordered more dishes from the food counter – Rendang Daging, Paru Goreng, Sambal Kerang and Pucuk Manis Masak Lemak. Portions are based on 1-person basis (RM7.80 upwards), so if you are sharing, do select a few more items!
Service was rather slow as we were told by the owner (who also operates Kotak in Subang Jaya) that their digital system was not properly set up yet. We could relate to the confusion as ordered food was served according to Bill Number and not Table Number! So the poor staff had to carry the food and look for the right Receipt Number at the tables. We hope this has been sorted out since.
