Where do I even begin when it comes to The Westin Resort Nusa Dua in Bali?
Let me start by saying that our 2-night stay at this fabulous resort was certainly not enough. We barely got to enjoy half of the facilities available in this sprawling resort spanned across a white sand beach facing the Indian Ocean in Nusa Dua on the southern shores of Bali. However, let me share with you what we actually got to experience in this vast resort.
Let’s check-in!
The impressive Main Lobby
The Westin celebrates “Wellness” like no other hotel, worldwide… therefore you can rest assured that this is echoed in everything throughout the property, from the toiletries, activities, cuisines to their signature spa, of course. Personally, I adore their Heavenly Bed the most! I think it’s really the best bed I’ve ever slept in, and for me, a good night’s sleep is the beginning of wellness. Each of the 433 rooms and suites at The Westin is furnished with these Heavenly Beds together with all the standard amenities of a 5-star resort. Wifi internet access is available for easy connectivity.
The best thing about staying at The Westin Nusa Dua is that there’s always something for you to immerse in – whether its a relaxing massage, rejuvenating spa session or for the active ones, there’s a host of recreational activities to keep the adrenaline flowing. The well-equipped gym, known as the WestinWORKOUT has a good range of state-of-the-art equipment to keep the muscles burning.
How about a massage in these Spa Bales at the beachfront garden?
As a wellness sanctuary, The Westin Nusa Dua’s daily wellness program is impressive. It’s all about relaxing and renewing energy for the body, mind and soul. Led by their resident Wellness Specialist, Jitendra Pokhriyal, the daily sessions of hatha yoga, meditation and pranayama helps in rejuvenation. I participated in a pranayama where Jitendra taught us how to breathe right to activate our energy. I garnered a few tips from him on how to re-energise whenever fatigue threatens – useful stuff!
The kids’ pool
How about a game of billiards?
The Heavenly Spa by Westin is an experience not to be missed. Therapeutic massages, cleansing facials and invigorating body treatments are part and parcel of nourishing the body and mind. Here at The Westin Nusa Dua, stepping into the beautifully set-up spa immediately made me feel lighter and more relaxed. From the gentle footwash to the relaxing sauna leading up to their signature massage, I had an incredibly rejuvenating time at the nurturing hands of the spa therapists. That night after the massage, I slept like a log for 9 hours straight (of course the Heavenly Bed helped too!)
With 3 swimming pools in the resort and the great big ocean, staying dry is not an option. Oh well, if you really want to chill it, just laze in one of their Dream Beds or private gazebo by the beach while watching others do the hard work, like snorkelling, windsurfing, beach volleyball etc. Oh by the way, those Dream Beds are just perfect for that romantic bonding time with your loved one, especially at sunset.
Well-known as a family and kids-friendly resort, The Westin Nusa Dua has an assortment of complimentary facilities just for kids. The resort’s hub for children, The Westin Family Kids Club is a supervised centre complete with games, toys and enriching activities for the little ones.
The comfortable and fun playroom for the little ones
The resort’s Recreation Department organises plenty of activities for the whole family to participate in – think cycling tours around Nusa Dua, Balinese dance lessons, water volleyball and even fruit carving!
Oh there’s one thing I’d like to highlight – the Living Room at this resort is a really thoughtful facility. Guests who arrive too early when room check-in is still not possible or guests who have a late flight to catch – where do you go? Well, the Living Room, of course!Overlooking the Premium Wing Pool, this stylish venue features a lovely lounge, individual wash & change facilities and wifi in air-conditioned comfort. Guests can also enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool or order some delicious food from the resort’s signature Italian restaurant, Prego. It’s open 24/7 and I think this is really a great facility.
The Living Room – cosy and comfortable
The Westin Nusa Dua is located in the same compound as the iconic Bali International Convention Centre and 30 minutes’ drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport. There’s always something going on and this resort is perfect for anyone attending any event at the convention centre.
So there you go, The Westin Nusa Dua has everything going for just anyone – for families with kids, couples on a romantic getaway, jaded travellers who need some rehabilitation of the mind and body or those who are attending some convention and possibly extending a weekend stay. For me personally, I’d love to revisit their wellness program on a deeper level and also indulge more on their culinary offerings. Oh yes, the food – which I will elaborate more in a separate post. There wasn’t enough time to try all the F&B outlets this time, so a longer stay in future is called for!
