The Merry GUINNESS® celebrations continued at Jarrod & Rawlins Ampang as GUINNESS® celebrates Christmas all December long with great food and fantastic promotions. Christmas dishes of GUINNESS®-infused dishes inspired by Masterchef Adam Liaw and finished with a Jarrod & Rawlins touch were served up at the event.
GUINNESS® has had a long association with good times and great food. This year, building on this heritage, GUINNESS® teamed up with Masterchef Adam Liaw (winner of Masterchef Australia 2) to create some very special GUINNESS®-infused dishes. Adam’s mouth-watering dishes were made available to the public at the party along with Jarrod & Rawlins’ finest dishes on the side. Customers were also seen digging in to the special Christmas dishes and pairing them with the free flow of GUINNESS® pints all night long.
Jarrod & Rawlins Merry GUINNESS® Christmas Menu started off with fresh Irish Oysters with GUINNESS® Cream…
GUINNESS® and oysters is a match made in heaven, and this dish is all about creaminess and the contrast of temperatures – the cold creaminess of the oysters matched very well with the warm creaminess of the GUINNESS® cream. A little shot of tartness from the lemon juice ties it all together.
Accompanying the oysters was this platter of Shallot Vinegar Asparagus, Marinated Mushroom & Semi Dried Tomato with Arugula Salad, Toasted Walnuts and Shaved Parmesan… refreshing and delicious!
The mains was GUINNESS® Butter Roasted Chicken, with chicken bangers…
This dish emphasises the sweetness of malt and the “roastiness” of roasted barley flavours in GUINNESS®, which match well with the tender, buttery chicken and crispy skin.
The sides that came with the Roast Chicken were more than generous … Chicken Sage Stuffing, Crispy Roast Potato, Caramelized Carrots & Onions, Yorkshire puddings, GUINNESS® & Prune Compote, Bread Sauce & Gravy!
Dessert was Sweet GUINNESS® damper with Maple & Berries Coulis. Damper is a simple, crumbly Australian bread often made with beer. The addition of GUINNESS® and molasses gives this damper a rich maltiness, and a deep complexity of flavour that matches beautifully with the dark berry compote.
After dessert, there was more…Assorted Cheese Platter, Dried Apricot, Nuts & Crackers…
Munch on the cheese and crackers in between sips of sweet Port Wine… that’s quite a perfect way to end dinner, I must say.
What would a Christmas party be without sweet Christmas carols filling the air with it festive sounds? Verses, a professional singing group, brought Christmas magic to the party with merry renditions of all our favourite Christmas carols.
