I love tea.
All kinds of tea… Chinese, Japanese, English, bags and tins of them fill my kitchen larder. In the office, I have packets and sachets of green tea to keep the oxidants away.
However, all those are going to take a back seat now because I’ve just discovered a whole new tea experience… from the making of it to the delightful savouring. The NESCAFE Dolce Gusto cafe-style beverage system and the newly-launched Marrakech Tea has totally changed my mindset!
The NESCAFE Dolce Gusto is a compact stylish machine that works wonders as far as beverage making is concerned. This nifty appliance is sleek and smooth – it now occupies a central spot in my kitchen. I can’t believe how simple it is to operate this petite beauty and a hot cup of beverage is ready in just a matter of a few minutes!
Gone is the old practice of having to put water in the kettle to boil and then steeping tea leaves in a pot. With the NESCAFE Dolce Gusto beverage system, just pour in room-temperature water in the water compartment. Then slot in the tea capsules in the drawer, flick the switch and hey presto – tea is served!
The first time I sipped the Marrakech Tea, I had this inexplicable flash of nostalgia. The refreshing minty flavour did it for me. Mint has always been a favourite herb with my mother who loved using mint leaves in soups and teas. Back then, mint leaves didn’t cost much and my mother even planted bushes of them in pots. It was always so easy and convenient to just pluck some and add them into our regular Chinese tea or fried egg soup!
I love the subtle spicy hints in the Marrakech Tea which leaves a lovely tangy trail on the tongue. The minty and spicy nuances are taken several notches up when laced with a fringe of sweetness. I always think the flavour of green tea truly blooms when balanced with a light layer of sweetness and the Marrakech Tea components are so well balanced in this aspect. Sipping on my Marrakech Tea, those lovely minty aromas waft their way up gently into my nostrils and spread their refreshing trails throughout my facial senses – it’s a most welcoming elixir for tired eyes and weary minds.
Because the flavours of the exotic Marrakech Tea are so well balanced, it is very refreshing on its own. It also goes incredibly well with light or heavy cakes. On the one hand, its minty aroma helps to optimise strong flavoured dense cakes and also goes extremely well with light fruity desserts. I thoroughly enjoyed my cuppa Marrakech Tea with a mango mousse cake!
There are 16 easy-to-use capsules in a box of Marrakech Tea costing RM27.99… that works out to RM1.75 per capsule which is really great value. Get a Nescafe Dolce Gusto (from RM499 onwards) and impress your friends and family with exquisite cafe-style beverages… be it coffee or tea!
For this upcoming Raya celebration, there’s an exclusive Raya offer where a purchase of a Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine will enable buyers a chance to win the Salam Raya Gift set which consists of a Genio 2 machine complete with a variety of capsules worth RM850 of Nescafe Dolce Gusto products. This offer is valid until 22 July 2014.
Now, excuse me while I go make myself another cup of that Marrakech Tea – oh, did I mention it’s also an excellent perk-me-up drink?
