The Hilton On The Park Melbourne is located in the heart of East Melbourne, the city’s main sports and entertainment district. It is easily accessible by tram (the tram stop is right across the hotel) and just about 8 minutes’ walk from the city’s CBD (Central Business District).
Our ballooning experience with Global Balloons started off here as Hilton On The Park is the meeting point. Checking in was a breeze and in less than 5 minutes, we got our keys and were zooming up to our room.
The room is done up in rich warm tones, contemporary furnishings and huge windows overlooking the Rod Laver Arena. The hotel is surrounded by the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Fitzroy Gardens, the RLA and the famous Melbourne Park, home of the Australian Open tennis tournament. So depending on your room category, you get some stunning views of these locations.
Guests in Executive Rooms will have exclusive access to their Executive Lounge with free breakfast and refreshments throughout the day and pre-dinner drinks in the evening.
Love the bright pink chairs here!
Refreshments at the Executive Lounge
All rooms offer high-speed internet access. This family friendly hotel provides rooms that sleep two adults and at least one child, 24-hour room service, babysitting service and is wheelchair accessible.
We love the serene parks and sports arenas around the hotel. Walking down to the CBD through Fitzroy Gardens is so refreshing and enjoyable in the crisp cool weather. Instead of walking, guests can also hire bikes from the hotel’s concierge.
After our ballooning trip with Global Ballooning, we had champagne breakfast at The Gallery restaurant in the hotel. Overlooking the lush Fitzroy Gardens, The Gallery is bright and cheerful (love the colorful floral motifs on the carpet!) – an excellent spot to start the day indulging in its buffet breakfast. Using locally-sourced ingredients, the chefs serve a wide variety of local and international specialities.
Cheers, mate!
Regardless whether you are a sports fan or just a casual visitor to Melbourne on holiday, Hilton On The Park is in a perfect location to cater to your needs. Cricket and football at the MCG, tennis at Melbourne Park (the place is swarmed comes January & February every year due to the Australian Open Tennis) and the Albert Park Golf Course is just 3 miles away. The Bridge Road Richmond shopping and dining precinct is 5 minutes from the hotel – yeah, lots of stuff to do!
Work out in the 24-hour fitness center or swim in the heated outdoor pool – or just do both!
How about indulging in a massage at the eforea spa, which also offers whirlpool and sauna services?
