With a history dating back to 1952 and starting off as a small shop in Muar, Yong Sheng Confectionery has been steadfast all this time making their mark in the cakes, pastries and confectionery business. When it comes to special and festive occasions, Yong Sheng’s offerings are popular among Malaysians. Their mooncakes and baby fullmoon sets are quite legendary.
In particular, Yong Sheng’s Chinese New Year cookies are always a hit. What stands out for their Chinese New Year cookies offerings are their beautiful colourful tins showing lovely nyonya garb, known as the “Little Nyonya” series. For several years now, since their debut, these floral-shaped tins have become conversational pieces.
This year, the range of cookies have remained extensive with many evergreen cookies from previous year as well as a few new cookies for 2018. You can buy them as individual tins or in special offer sets as well as packed together with other goodies in their festive hampers.
Orders can be placed online from their website here. You need to place your orders fast to ensure you get your goodies in time for the Chinese New Year.
Otherwise, you can buy them from any of their 12 outlets nationwide (mainly in Johor but they are also in Subang Jaya and 1Utama in the Klang valley)- more information on their locations are also available here. If you are in other states, then your best bet would be to buy online!
Yong Sheng Confectionery has also set up temporary booths in major malls and supermarkets – keep an eye out for them!
