I’ve never really fancied living in the city. But if I ever do, my dream abode in the city centre would be like a suite in Element Kuala Lumpur. We did a staycation recently in this all-suite hotel housed in the soaring 274m high Ilham Tower, one of the most iconic buildings in Kuala Lumpur. It is a Green Building Index-certified hotel and its clean modernistic interior leaves one with a sense of calm and wonder.
When we stepped into the lofty foyer of the building, we were directed to the lift to go up to the 40th Floor where the hotel reception is located. In less than a minute, the lift opened soundlessly and deposited us at the check-in counter where checking-in was a breeze. Within minutes, we tapped our electronic room card at our suite and stepped into our beautifully-appointed 40sqm King Studio Skyline suite.
Element Hotel draws inspiration from the sense of renewal that defines the Westin brand experience. An easy relaxing vibe resonates throughout the suite – from the lovely shades of watercolour grey on the walls and furnishings to the refreshing spaciousness … everything breathes rest and wellness. My favourite spot is of course the Westin Heavenly® Bed! That, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offering uninterrupted skyline views of the city. Oh, did I mention that neat wardrobe cleverly tucked behind the bed? I love it!

The King Studio Skyline Suite comes with simple (but sufficient) cooking facilities. Besides the usual kettle and refrigerator, there’s also an induction cooker, microwave oven and full set of crockery and cutlery available in the suite. Talk about convenience!

In Element Hotel by Westin, there are 252 well-appointed suites, ranging from Studios to 1-3 Bedrooms, meeting rooms and an all-day dining restaurant, Trace. On the 39th Floor, everything is about “living well” – the indoor swimming pool, spa, 24-hour gym and exercise rooms are all housed here. Element Kuala Lumpur is the first of its brand to set foot in South East Asia. Built green from the ground up, the hotel promotes eco-friendly practices like environmentally-responsible 3M water filters.

Trace Restaurant & Bar
Trace Restaurant & Bar is the hotel’s all-day pork-free dining outlet on the 40th Floor with gorgeous views all round. Buffet breakfast and dinner are served here -the BBQ Temptation Buffet Dinner on Thursdays to Sundays is immensely popular. So is the Weekend Arteastry Hi-Tea! We have picked some of our favourites from their a la carte menu which features healthy western fusion staples and local favourites…

We like how Element Kuala Lumpur is tucked away in a quiet street, off the belt of the main thoroughfare. The Ampang Park Light Rail Transit (LRT) is just at its doorstep and you can explore the world renowned Petronas Twin Towers less than a kilometre away, or visit Kuala Lumpur’s vibrant shopping malls and popular tourist destinations. The hotel also offers bicycles at the ground floor for guests to explore the city and KLCC park.
If you are looking for a restful getaway in the city with close proximity to KLCC, Petronas Twin Towers and the surrounding shopping areas, Element Kuala Lumpur by Westin is just the place.
