The Cinnamon Coffee House at One World Hotel is one of the busiest places ever, come Ramadhan. I know, because I pass by the place very often and during Ramadhan, extra tables would be put out in the lower ground lobby area to accommodate the hordes of diners. Well, you really can’t fault the enthusiasm, considering Cinnamon Coffee House serves one of the most extensive Ramadhan buffets around here.
Dodol, anyone?
With over 100 varieties each day, the “Aroma Semenanjung” spread includes multi-ethnic delicacies of Malay, Indian, Chinese, Nyonya and Eurasian origins. These are all laid out at the commanding central buffet counter as well as individual specific stalls located all over the sprawling restaurant. Honestly, one will hardly have the capacity to taste everything in The Cinnamon!
The choices are mind-boggling, to say the least… you just have to zoom in to your favourites. To kick off, there is an array of appetising starters like Kerabu, Serunding, Acar, Nasi Impit, Ketupat and Lemang or tasty soups such as Kambing Berempah, Soto Ayam and Sup Ekor Pedas. Or, if you prefer the healthier options, go for the salads paired with assorted condiments and dressings.
For a hearty Buka Puasa experience, check out comforting traditional dishes like Daging Sumor, Rendang Tok Gunung Rapat, Sotong Kalio Batawi, Sayur Lemak Nangka, Daging Gulai Kawah, Ayam Percik, Puyuh Goreng Berempah, Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak, Nasi Pelangi and Sup Tulang Rawan – that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Don’t miss out the popular items like Bubur Lambuk, Mee Udang, Satay, various types of ketupats, serunding and the list goes on.
Besides these traditional dishes, the Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Italian counters are busy too. Don’t miss the fish head curry at the Indian stall – that’s one of the best I’ve had! Ikan bakar with various sambals and dips next to the Indian stall is a must-eat.
The desserts and fruits selections take up not one but several counters. Diners will be spoilt for choice with the myriad of mouthwatering local desserts such as Ais Kacang, Cendol, Serawa Pulut Durian, Pandan Kurma Mousse, Tapai Pulut and assorted puddings, cakes and kuih. Jars of delectable Raya cookies are available, too.
Daily buffet dinner starts from 6.30pm to 10.30pm and priced at RM128++ for adult and RM64++ for children aged 4–12 years until 27 July 2014.
