Tucked away in the heart of Kelana Jaya is this sprawling laidback place called Sanook Bistro & Sportz Bar overlooking the lake. When you are in Sanook, you totally leave behind the hustle bustle and horrific traffic fumes of the LDP and you can almost feel the stress eroding from your soul as you relax and gaze at the splendid lake view and the twinkling shimmers dancing on the water. I was told “sanook” means “fun” in Thai and I guess that is exactly what the owners intended this place to … [Read more...]
Sheraton Macao Grand Opening
Recently, I was privileged enough to be invited to join a media group from Malaysia to attend in the gala opening of the Sheraton Macao. It’s my first trip to Macau, so of course I was excited like hell! Even though I was all bleary-eyed trooping down the long walkway of LCCT to board our 6.30am direct flight to Macau, the idea of being included in our 15-strong only Malaysian media group was already so thrilling. We were all going to be part of the gala celebration for the opening of … [Read more...]
Arthur’s Day at SOULed OUT, SriHarts
From what I heard and saw, Arthur’s Day 2012 was a smashing success with thousands of fans gathering at 3 unique music events which took place simultaneously across the Klang Valley last week. Fans gathered at the Beer Factory, Sunway Giza, Laundry Bar, The Curve and SOULedOUT Sri Hartamas (or “SriHarts” as coined by the creative folks in SOULed OUT!) to raise a pint to the founder of the world’s favourite black brew, Arthur Guinness. The celebration, themed ‘A Celebration Made of More’, gave … [Read more...]
Sparkalite Brunch at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur
What is Sunday to you? To me, my Sundays are usually days of rest and pampering, be it a massage, or lounging at home catching up on home movies or going for long leisurely meals with friends and family. The good people at The Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur thoroughly understand the Malaysian way of “pampering” which somehow or rather involves eating, wining and catching up with loved ones. Now, combine all these 3 and what you get is their latest dining offering: Sparkalite Sunday … [Read more...]

Mooncakes from Hilton Kuala Lumpur
Seeing that the Mid Autumn Festival is just a couple of days away (it's on 30 September this year), I thought I'd just share this one last post on Mooncakes. To be frank, I'm not crazy over mooncakes. But even as a non-fan, or not-so-much-of-a fan, I must say the snowskin offerings from the Hilton Kuala Lumpur are really good. I've tasted four of them and they are easily among the best I have tasted this year. The Blue Moon has Amaretto lotus paste with blueberry cheese Feuillantine - … [Read more...]
The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa – The Heavenly Spa & Spa by Night
On days like this when my muscles ache and stretched to the limit and every bone seems stiff as pole, my thoughts automatically go back the Heavenly Spa at The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa with great longing. It is the only Heavenly Spa in Malaysia by Westin. The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa has won many many awards and accolades for various service categories – the last I counted, there were almost 30 (maybe more by now!). Out of these, the Heavenly Spa by Westin alone has won … [Read more...]
Amadeus Bistro & Wine Bar @ Life Centre Kuala Lumpur
It’s pretty easy to locate Amadeus Bistro & Wine Bar in the newly refurbished Life Centre along Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. In fact, it was so easy that I arrived much earlier than the rest of my dining companions that evening and I had ample time to check out the place. At Amadeus Bistro & Wine Bar, the low-ceilinged room acts as a cosy, quiet refuge for patrons eager to have lunch, dinner, coffee, or just to chill out and have a chat with friends. This casually chic European … [Read more...]
Celebrate Arthur’s Day at SOULed OUT
It all started in 1759 when Arthur’s Day is celebrated around the world to honour the date Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000 year lease on the St James Gate Brewery, and whose legacy has brought us the globally celebrated iconic black brew, GUINNESS®. Raising a toast to Arthur is a central part of the annual festivities and is fast becoming a tradition among GUINNESS® fans around the world. September is the month where people all over the world raise their glasses to salute the one man who … [Read more...]
Whatchuwant? How about getting your vehicle pimped & appearing on “Pimp My Ride”?
I have always loved that MTV show “Pimp My Ride” where they select beaten-up old cars and then not only restoring them but also customising them into some fancy “state-of-the-art” works. It’s always amazing to see how an ordinary-looking (and in most cases, in bad shape) vehicle can be modified and transformed into an awesome super ride after being “pimped”. How cool is that if you can get your car all pimped up, to whatever whim your personality demands and parade it to the envy of … [Read more...]
