If you remember Mr Ho’s Fine Foods back in the 1990’s which served some pretty amazing porky dishes, you’ll be happy to know that he and his family are back with their Butcher’s Table venture. With several outlets in the Klang Valley since 2017, their latest outlet at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur surely rings a good “oink oink” welcome to all meat lovers.
Located at Level 7, known as the Dining Loft, the simple and contemporary decor in a chic black & grey theme sets the pace for some real good meaty meals. Diners eating at The Butcher’s table will be assured that only the best cuts of meat are served here. After all, Mr Ho was a master butcher for many years, honing his skills from a Swiss-German butcher. Besides butchery skills, Mr Ho is an expert in curing and smoking meats. Using 100% natural wood chips to smoke meats such as pancetta and pork knuckles, it’s no wonder that the meats turn out deliciously fragrant without compromising on tastes and textures.
We tried a few of their signature dishes and the Tomapork and Salted Beef are our absolute favourites. The Tomapork is a huge portion, perfectly marinated and grilled – it’s so good that the accompanying dipping sauce wasn’t necessary at all. The pink juicy tender pork of this serving is really excellent. The Salted Beef was inspired by Mr Ho’s visit to Selfridges London many years ago where he saw a long queue waiting for that dish. Using Australian beef brisket, it’s cured for 10 days and slow-cooked for 24 hours in a special broth until it’s tender. One bite into the tender pieces and we were sold by its amazing flavours and achingly tender texture.
If you love sausages, do not miss the ones made in The Butcher’s Table. Their selection of nitrate-free, preservative-free sausages are house-crafted with natural hog casings and zero fillers. We love their Deluxe Nuernberger Ring Sausage – great portion for sharing.
Crispy Roast Pork and their signature Bacon Fried Rice go so well together – a porky match that will satisfy any such cravings!
There are so many other mouth-watering dishes on the menu that we want to try, so repeat visits are definitely on the card. Besides grilled meats, pizzas, burgers and pastas are served as well. Apart from pork and beef, there’s also chicken, fish and lamb on the menu. Draught & bottled beers, wine and champagne are available. Diners can buy meats and sausages from the restaurant – take your pick from the chillers!
