Noel Gifts Malaysia recently launched its Hari Raya 2012 Collection of hampers and gifts at Restoran Rebung Chef Ismail in Bangsar. The name “Noel Gifts Malaysia” needs no introduction as this brand has been very well established in the local scene for many years. In fact, it has been in Malaysia since 1991, under a franchise operation. After the expiry of its 20-year franchise agreement, Noel Gifts International Ltd positioned Noel Gifts Malaysia to continue its heritage of quality products and excellent services and hence, the Malaysian entity was born.
Mr Alfred SH Wong (Managing Director of Noel Gifts Malaysia, together with his Management Team & Celebrity Chef Ismail
The launch of the exquisite Hari Raya 2012 Collection was timely, in the holy month of Ramadhan and Restoran Rebung, helmed by celebrity Chef Ismail, prepared a lavish spread of authentic traditional Malay fare for the guests for Buka Puasa.
With the promise “Bringing People Closer”, Alfred SH Wong (Managing Director) emphasized the company’s mission of putting smiles on the faces of both senders and recipients of their lovely gifts and hampers. Great care has been taken to handpick not only the items or gifts placed inside the hampers, the Noel team even designed the containers to ensure exclusivity! Their creative stylish packaging designs certainly place them a league above the rest.

Using only the freshest and best-value products, Noel Gifts Malaysia prides itself on putting customer satisfaction at the top of its criteria list. “We will never use anything in our hampers that we ourselves do not enjoy consuming, whether it’s a food item or any other product”, explained Grace Fong, their General Manager. Grace also related how they tested and tasted endless types of cookies from countless bakers till they were finally satisfied with one particular home baker who now supplies them the special Hari Raya cookies in their hampers. I tried their Chocolate Oats Cookies and I must say, yes, the cookies are absolutely delicious!
The super-tall Keith Wong (Group Sales Manager) urged all of us to try the Medjool Premium Super Dates they brought in from California (which are packed in some of their exclusive premium baskets).
Not a date lover myself, I was pretty bowled over by the size, texture and taste of those succulent dates. The skin is silkily smooth (unlike most dates whereby the skin is kinda hard and distinctive from the flesh of the date) and there’s a nice pillowy softness in the texture as well.
In celebration of the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri, take your pick from Noel Gifts Malaysia’s extensive collection – check out their ranges Semanis Lebaran, Buka Puasa, Evergreen Hampers, Flowers & Gifts, Lebaran Baskets, Salam Aidilfitri and their gorgeous Mahkota and Regal Series.
More information on these beautiful gifts can be found on their website here.
Go on… put a smile on the faces of your loved ones by sending them a Noel gift!
Coming to the food, Restoran Rebung Chef Ismail is without doubt a great place to head to, for good old traditional Malay cuisine. I love this old-world charming sprawling bungalow that’s outfitted like a Malay kampong house (a very big one!) with its carved wooden beams and verandahs.
Tables and counters decked out in colourful batiks are filled with belangas, woks and pots of curries, kuahs, gulais, ulams, kerabus, various types of rice dishes and noodles.
Live cooking stalls have been set up to serve murtabaks, fried bananas & chempedak, popiah, roti jala, asam laksa and ikan bakar. Malay desserts – kuehs, buburs and pengats are all laid out in an inner room and baskets of abundant fresh fruits are available to end your Buka Puasa meal on a very sweet note.
