Are you a fan of Banana Leaf Rice? And you adore Biryani too? Can’t decide between the two? Well, Fierce Curry House has the perfect solution for you – have the best of both, have the Bir-Nana!
A delicious combination of banana leaf rice and biryani, diners get to select their choice of Biryani which is served with 5 vegetable dishes of the day, resam, chicken curry or vathal kulambu, raita, achar, pappadam and kesari. These Bir-Nana sets are priced from RM20-RM26 per set, depending on the choice of biryani rice selected.
Fierce Curry House needs no introduction. Ever since they opened their doors, this restaurant has been delighting fans of banana leaf rice meals with their delectable Indian fares. Thali sets and biryani seems to be their hot sellers – on any given day, you can see tables filled with happy diners munching on these spiced meals.
You can’t miss the colourful facade!
Their biryani served is of the dhum style where the spiced rice and marinated meats are sealed tightly in metal bowls with pastry dough to lock in the aromas and flavours. The biryani is served with raita, resam and chicken or vegetables curry.
Fried Bittergourd – my must-have item in an Indian meal!
For a simpler and more economical meal, Fierce’s South and North Indian Vegetarian Thali Sets (RM10) remain incredibly popular. Diners get a choice of white rice or parboiled rice or chapati with 5 vegetable dishes of the day (including fried bittergourd), sambar, vathal kulambu (vegetables curry), resam, pappadam, salted fried chilli and kesari.
Onion Pakora (RM8) is a great appetizer to get the feast rolling!
Butter Chicken
With Deepavali round the corner, if you are craving for some authentic Indian fares, Fierce Curry House’s a la carte menu offers a good variety of Indian specialities. If rice is not your preference, their naans are perfect to go with the thick creamy curries like Butter Chicken (RM22) and Orange Prawns (RM30). The perfect balance of spices in these dishes helps to tone down the creamy and nutty nuances of the gravies.
Basket of Assorted Naans (RM12)
Palak Paneer (RM20) – Spinach and cottage cheese, a must in any North Indian feast!
Vegetables dishes like my favourite Aloo Bindhi (RM14) – a mixture of potatoes and okra goes well with both rice and naans.
Orange Prawns
My favourite Aloo Bindhi
The tandoor oven yields not only fluffy breads and naans; the grilled meats are even more tantalising. Without fail, the Tandoori Chicken (RM14 for 1/4 chicken) gets the most applause for the spot-on marinades and tender juiciness of the meat.
For most people, the tandoori chicken is often just the regular type using masala spices and yoghurt for the marination. In Fierce Curry House, you can check out four differently-marinated versions, namely the tandoori, malai, hariyali and kalmi flavours. The creamy cheesy flavours of the “malai” kebab are rich and satisfying, while the refreshing mint of “hariyali” is pleasing and the ginger garlic paste in the “kalmi” piece gives it a nice delicate kick. The Chicken Kebab Palette (RM22) offers 4 hugs chunks of boneless thigh meat cooked in the 4 variations.
Fierce Curry House is open daily 10.30am till 10.30pm – it’s even open during Deepavali! Time for a fierce feast, yo!
