Get set for a crazy seafood feast in PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur in August 2014. Yes, don’t say I didn’t warn you of the imminent cholesterol spike but if you are a seafood, in particular, Crabs lover, there’s no way you can miss this.
It’s unbelievably priced at only RM115 nett RM85 nett per adult!
For that price, not only will you be able to eat-till-you-drop from the amazing spread of seafood, you will practically pass out from the mind-boggling array of crab-laden dishes. Everywhere you turn, there will be crabs, in all forms, sizes and taste.
From the seafood on ice counter, there will be mud crabs, blue ocean crabs and Sri Lankan crabs. Salads like caribbean crab salad, crabmeat and mango salad and kerabu isi ketam will be beckoning. Before proceeding to the crabs and other seafood, why not line your stomach with some simmering Crabmeat Soup?
But if you are like me who doesn’t believe in wasting time and stomach capacity on the sidekicks, just zoom in to the stars of the buffet: 10 amazing crab dishes lined up every Friday and Saturday night in August! I was kept very busy cracking shells of Kam Heong Crabs, Butter Crabs, Marmite Crabs, Sweet Sour Crabs, Salted Egg Crabs, Wok-fried Chilli Crabs, Blue Flower Crabs Masak Lemak Nenas, Steamed Crabs with Egg White and Spicy Flower Crabs! I absolutely adore the thick bouncy meat of the super fresh Indonesian mud crabs used in the dishes.
The chefs at PARKROYAL sure know how to cook their crustaceans as every dish was executed with great aplomb. Honestly, I couldn’t fault a single item and I had a hard time deciding on my favourites.
DL’s favourite is the Kam Heong crabs – he just couldn’t stop on those. I had a ball with the Marmite Crabs and Salted Egg Crabs. Fluffy mantous are served with the Sweet Sour Crabs and those were polished off very fast as the sweet sour crabs were also a great crowd pleaser.
For those who love crabs but can’t do without carbs, there will be crabby noodles like Fried Yee Mee with Crabmeat gravy, Prawn & Crabmeat Noodles, Tomyum Crab Noodles Soup and even Soba and Udon with crabmeat! I was told not to miss the Baked Crab Pudding too as it’s a well-baked combination of crabmeat, eggs, cream, onion, garlic and spices.
Yes, it’s going to be an awfully sinful trip … but hey, the good folks in PARKROYAL try to mitigate this by offering unlimited refills of freshly squeezed fruits and vegetables. So, do get plenty of celery and mini bitter gourd juice – I heard those will help with the cholesterol thingy.
