Ann Chin has been roasting turkeys for more than 6 years and it all started with roasting the big bird for her family. Then, friends got to know about her home-roasted turkeys and they started asking Ann to roast for them. Then, friends of friends got to know about Ann’s special roasts and that’s how “Aunt Ann’s Roasts” became more popular, especially during festive periods.
Now, with Christmas coming up and after that, the New Year, how about some serious meat feasting? Together with a few other bloggers, I got a taste of Aunt Ann’s beautifully roasted pork and lamb. Using only the best shoulder cuts, Aunt Ann’s Roast Pork is meticulously tied up before popping it into the oven, tightening the meat and sealing in the juices.
As you can see, the best part of the roast is the amazingly crunchy crackling! The skin of the pork has been roasted through and well, resulting in an even crisp… it was such a thrill crunching down on this! It’s so good that I kept looking out for any “stray” crackling on the plate!
When sliced, the pork pieces were oozing with sweet juices. The meat wasn’t heavily marinated as this slab of porky delight has to be enjoyed on its own merit – pure porcine flavours that shine through.
Have the Leg of Lamb if pork aint your love. Aunt Ann’s Roasted Leg of Lamb is marinated with garlic, herbs & spices and served with a homemade sauce.
The lamb is also done well – that hint of pink in the meat shows it’s not overcooked so the meat still retains a good level of moistness. Aunt Ann’s meats are mildly marinated with special French herbs that enhance the natural flavours of the meat, never overwhelming.
