March is another delicious month at Zuan Yuan, the Chinese restaurant in One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya. The culinary team here has curated some special items for this month, using premium ingredients resulting in dishes that please even the most demanding palates.
If you love lamb, then you must have Chef Tommy Choong’s Braised Lamb Brisket. Using only premium local lamb and braising it with water chestnuts, mushrooms, fried beancurd with a selection of herbs, the bubbling tender lamb brisket, served in a claypot, exude the most exquisite flavours without any unbecoming gaminess. The thick delicious sauce is perfect with rice or mantou.

My favourite is the Steamed Dragon Garoupa fillet rolls on a bed of the silkiest egg white “chawan mushi”. I just love the natural sweetness of the live garoupa – flavours are so delicate and just so good!

The Pan-fried Mini Chicken Buns would be just about average except that the chicken filling inside was elevated a few notches with the addition of some kickass Bentong ginger!

To round off a meal here on a sweet note, have some Steamed Chinese Sponge Cakes (aka “Ma Lai Go”) made a bit fragrant with the addition of organic molasses sugar.
