After months of refurbishment, the Hilton Kuala Lumpur recently unveiled its brand new Chambers Bar & Grill located on the lobby floor of the hotel. Entering the premise, we were bowled over by the sleek lines of its decor. It seems like everything in Chambers is shiny and reflective – right from its intertwined double-C logo, the metallic main door frame, the polished wooden floor and its super-reflective copper tinted satin metal ceiling. The tables and distressed leather seats … [Read more...]
Rayner Stone Fruit Orchard, Yarra Valley, Melbourne
In our last trip to Melbourne, we went on a road trip to the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula. We stayed a night at the gorgeous Balgownie Estate Vineyard Resort & Spa and the next day we took to the road heading towards Woori Yallock as we wanted to visit Rayner Stone Fruit Orchard. It was a bright beautiful autumn day when we piled into our nifty Audi A3 and with the help of Maps on our iPhones, the drive to Rayner Stone Fruit Orchard took less than an hour. We took it … [Read more...]
Mikan @ Damansara Perdana
Damansara Perdana is one place which I hardly venture out for food, although it is pretty near my office. With its rapid development the past few years, dining places have mushroomed so much in this area that I can hardly keep up with it! Mikan Japanese Cuisine which used to be at Maju Junction, Kuala Lumpur has relocated to Damansara Perdana earlier this year. I like its quieter location, away from the noisy centre of the commercial hub. Its simple, slightly eclectic décor calls for … [Read more...]
The Majestic Malacca – Dining at The Mansion & Pampered at The Spa Village
When we were at The Majestic Malacca, we loved climbing up the wooden staircase to The Mansion – the semi-formal dining room just a floor above the lobby. The polished wooden balustrade reminded me of the grand old houses back in Ipoh, especially the “big knobs” design on the vertical pillars. The Mansion has a capacity for 106 guests and 2 private dining rooms seating 10 and 16 guests respectively. The tables are covered with crisp white linen cloths and table napkins are … [Read more...]
Comforting Dishes @ Lammeeya
Lammeeya has always been known for its popular “Lam Mee”(smooth yellow noodles cooked in a starchy broth) and other types of noodles. Lunch hour at Lammeeya s always packed with diners slurping away at their Lam Mee, Prawn Noodles, Curry Mee, Chicken Kwayteow Soup and my favourite, their Chee Cheong Fun, served Ipoh-style. Not many people are aware that Lammeeya also has an extensive selection of dishes that go well with rice. Most of these dishes are simple and fuss-free… dishes that … [Read more...]

The petite and demure-looking culinary artist has been actively promoting Vietnamese cuisine in countless food festivals all over the world. Her passion in the culinary arts has driven her through many promotions … [Read more...]
Pantrie @ Oasis Square
“There is no sincerer love than the love of food”, so said George Bernard Shaw. And so echoed Alice Tuen, owner and chef of Pantrie. Located in the up-and-coming busy commercial centre called Oasis Square, Pantrie is just a few months old. Alice relates how she had to constantly come up with healthy and interesting dishes to ensure her 4 kids eat proper meals. As the mother of 4 stormed up more and more new recipes, she noticed that her kids’ friends started to come over more frequently … [Read more...]
