During our stay at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort recently, we had a chance to indulge on their Sunday Brunch. “Brunch at Hilton” took on a whole new meaning with the sumptuous spread lined up at Sails Restaurant, one of their most popular eateries on the property.
Sundays are especially laidback in Phuket – it’s something to do with the sun, sea and sky there, I think. The Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort was one of the very first establishments in Phuket that started the Sunday Brunch. It’s easy to understand why it has remained terribly popular with the locals and visitors. You just need to step into Sails at 12 noon on a Sunday and you’ll know why.
The splendid buffet spread has something for everyone with a gorgeous mix of Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Western and Indian dishes. The cold appetisers stations were practically heaving with loads of freshly boiled seafood on ice – think succulent rock lobsters, New Zealand mussels, sweet tiger prawns, not to mention the freshest salmon and tuna on the sashimi platters. At the carving stations, go crazy having to decide on roast chicken, roasted prime ribs, lamb and our favourite whole leg of parma ham!
Three hours may not even be enough to indulge on all that’s served with the endless counters of cheeses, salads, hot dishes, dim sum station, noodles bar and desserts. And if those were not enough, their friendly service crew also made several rounds to the diners’ tables serving freshly cooked food from the kitchen, like pizzas, pies, pastas and cakes! Oh, don’t miss out that splendid chocolate fountain too.
At the al fresco dining area facing the pool, a live band added on to the relaxing and laidback atmosphere. There’s also an entertainment area set up for kids.
The Sunday Brunch is open from 12pm to 3pm, priced at 1,400++ baht for adults (with wine), 1,100++ baht for adults (without wine) and 700++ baht for kids (6-12 years).

Sails Restaurant also serves themed buffet dinner every night. During our stay, we caught their Seafood Buffet there on a Saturday evening. The buffet spread was extensive, with a good mix of local and international flavours.
Appetizers and mains focused on the bounties of the sea: crabs, lobsters, prawns, scallops, fish, shellfish – you name it, they had it. And cooked in a variety of methods, from the simple boiling to the stronger local flavours.
Our favourite was the BBQ station located outside the restaurant where the smokey aromas of fresh lobsters, prawns and squids on the grill filled the evening air.
“Breakfast at Hilton” couldn’t be more luxurious than Sails Restaurant’s daily buffet breakfast. The cool breeze blowing in from the Andaman Sea has made the al fresco dining area facing the pool the prime location for breakfast.
Sitting under the signature black-and-white striped umbrellas, we took our time savouring the sumptuous breakfast. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and at the Sails Restaurant, the first meal of the day couldn’t go any better!
Don’t miss out their noodles!
