MIGF 2013 – Kelantan Delights

There are not that many days left before MIGF 2013 draws to an end by 31 October.  Well, there’s about a week more to go but if you hurry, you still can secure your booking for Kelantan Delight’s offering for this festival.

Participating for the very first time in MIGF, Kelantan Delight’s Chef Muslim Sadli and his team have come up with a festival menu that showcases all that’s traditionally famous from the East Coast state of Kelantan.  In fact, the menu highlights the best of the restaurant’s a la carte dishes.  Having dined in this restaurant many times and delighting in the dishes’ authentic tastes, I’m so happy that all my favourites are featured in the festival menu!

The Full Festival Menu at RM99nett per person (without wine) features all these:

Appetisers – a platter consisting of 3 items:

(1) Sirih Daun Kadok

A classic Kelantanese appetizer consisting of Peanuts, Dried Shrimp, Lemon Peel, Ginger, Birdseye Chili, Roasted Coconut Flakes, wrapped in a whole Betel Leaf and drizzled with a signature sauce

(2) Kerabu Soo Hoon Udang Harimau

A sweet, sour and spicy salad with northern border influence, paired with Thai glass noodles and succulent Tiger Prawns

(3) Kerabu Pauh Muda

Tangy green mangoes, sliced and tossed with a sweet chili sauce

Soup

Sup Krim Ikan Parang

Laksam served with Ulam Mentah, Serunding Daging and Telur Rebus

Creamy fish soup made of sweet Wolf-Herring and coconut, paired with a selection of traditional Kelantanese greens, spicy beef floss and boiled egg

Main Courses

Nasi Kerabu served with Ayam Percik Buluh

A Kelantanese staple. Fragrant rice steamed with blue Clitoria flowers, topped with a rich brown sauce and traditional salad consisting of bean sprouts, cucumbers, selon leaves, pennywort, Vietnamese mint, ginger flowers, cabbage, salted egg, fish crackers, grated coconut and fish sauce. Served with charcoal grilled chicken drizzled with a special coconut sauce

Ikan Siakap Asam Lintang

Whole fresh sea bass steamed and served in a sweet tangy sauce of assam and other herbs

A platter consisting of these 4 items:

(1) Daging Paha Kerutuk

Succulent choice cut of prime beef slow cooked in a rich spicy coconut based sauce

(2) Kerabu Pucuk Paku

A delicious vegetable stir-fry of spike shoots in a mild creamy sauce

(3) Sambal Udang Petai

Red hot and spicy! Juicy prawns cooked with a Malaysian favorite – Stinky Beans

(4) Telur Dadar

A fluffy omelette flash fried in extremely hot oil with onions, chilies and other spices

Gulai Kawah

A traditional Kelantanese dish, made in a huge wok and simmered for hours. Made primarily of prime beef cuts, potatoes and a variety of herbs and spices

    Any idea if this is also available at the Sooka Sentral branch?

      Hi Marcky, the MIGF Menu is only available at their Subang outlet. Not that far away, rite?
