Have you ever dined at Melting Pot Cafe, the coffee-house in Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur? Melting Pot’s buffet spreads are pretty legendary with local specialities taking the limelight. For 20 days this month, ie from 6-26 March 2017, diners will have more reason to head to Melting Pot, especially if they are fans of nyonya cuisine. Chef Adriana Tan, a popular … [Read more...]
BOSS CURRY HOUSE, Bkt Rimau, Shah Alam
Right here in my neighbourhood there’s this curry house that has been serving crowds in its modest premises. Serving Chettinad-style mixed with other Southern Indian dishes, food here is displayed in vegetarian and non-vegetarian shelves. Service is brisk and friendly and together with the very decent dishes, so it’s not hard to see why this place has been packing in the crowds. We have tried both their lunch and breakfast offerings and have been impressed with the quality. A standard … [Read more...]

RETRO TAPAS BAR CAFE @ TREC Kuala Lumpur
Retro Tapas Bar Cafe is one of the latest additions to the long list of F&B outlets in TREC. Located at the Alcove section of TREC, this bar cafe occupies a quiet corner facing the main road. With its bright yellow and red furniture, you can’t miss it. I couldn’t help but be amused by the cute red swing hanging right in front of the cheerful-looking bar counter! I think that certainly comes in handy to give their guests some rigorous swings when things are slowing down. With the … [Read more...]
LEXIS HIBISCUS, PORT DICKSON – Part 1: THE RESORT
To say that Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson is huge is an understatement. BIG MOUTH SEAFOOD, Bandar Botanic, Klang
I’ve often wondered what inspired the amusing name “Big Mouth” for this fairly new restaurant occupying a corner shoplot in Bandar Botanic, Klang. Does one need to have a big mouth to gobble up what they serve? It has been drawing in the crowds almost every evening since it opened a few months ago. With such a catchy name on its huge signboard, it’s easy to spot the place coming off the Kesas Highway. You can’t miss the big welcoming signboard! Naturally our meal here started … [Read more...]

Our trip to Hokkaido was in end September/early October 2016 for 9 nights 11 days covering Noboribetsu, Hakodate, Lake Toya and of course, Sapporo. We decided to visit during autumn when the weather was delightfully cold and yet with the fall colours still visible. We took the Air Asia night flight directly from KLIA2 and arrived at the New Chitose Airport the next morning at 8.20am. This 1st post covers what we experienced in Chitose and Noboribetsu, with a short sojourn to Sapporo, just for … [Read more...]

With a seating capacity for 80 pax, Dolly Dim Sum in Pavilion Elite is fashioned after a traditional kitchen setting.
