Perched high up on the 51st floor, Sabayon, EQ Kuala Lumpur's award-winning modern fine dining venue is introducing its new seasonal menus. The distinctive new menus draw from an inspiration of culinary tradition, stemming from the classic methods of the famed Auguste Escoffier’s classique cusine, to more modernist takes on texture, flavour and presentation. The impressive menu lists several course meals, starting from RM488. The Classic is Sabayon’s latest 4-course menu at … [Read more...]

Dining-out at CHYNNA, Hilton Kuala Lumpur
With some of the lockdown restrictions being slowly lifted as the community moves on to the next recovery phase, dining out is now allowed. To many F&B establishments and hotels, there must be collective sighs of relief as they see there’s likely to be light at the end of the tunnel. I am selective when it comes to dining-out now, even as we move on to the pandemic recovery phase and resuming as normal a life as can be. I will only visit places which I know will strictly enforce … [Read more...]

SPG by Bijan, Kuala Lumpur
Back in the 1970’s-80’s, the term “SPG” was quite widely used. “Sarong Party Girl” as what the abbreviation stands for, refers to an Asian girl who loves to party with white guys. I believe this was coined in the 1940’s when the British ruled over Singapore and this character has even been popularized in books. This acronym is cheekily used by the folks at Bijan to name their sister outlet – SPG by Bijan. Main Entrance Located right next to Bijan itself, SPG is a Malay tapas and … [Read more...]

DELICIOUS @ St Mary Place, Kuala Lumpur
The last time I dined at Delicious was many years ago. Over time there has been many changes made at their cafes, in terms of management and menu. A recent visit to the Delicious at St Mary Place revealed a menu that’s varied with western choices and local favourites. This particular outlet serves a breakfast buffet and guests staying at the nearby E&O Residences mostly get their breakfast here. For a more interesting dining experience, we checked out a few of their popular orders from the … [Read more...]
