After months of refurbishment, the Hilton Kuala Lumpur recently unveiled its brand new Chambers Bar & Grill located on the lobby floor of the hotel. Entering the premise, we were bowled over by the sleek lines of its decor. It seems like everything in Chambers is shiny and reflective – right from its intertwined double-C logo, the metallic main door frame, the polished wooden floor and its super-reflective copper tinted satin metal ceiling. The tables and distressed leather seats … [Read more...]
The Majestic Malacca – Dining at The Mansion & Pampered at The Spa Village
When we were at The Majestic Malacca, we loved climbing up the wooden staircase to The Mansion – the semi-formal dining room just a floor above the lobby. The polished wooden balustrade reminded me of the grand old houses back in Ipoh, especially the “big knobs” design on the vertical pillars. The Mansion has a capacity for 106 guests and 2 private dining rooms seating 10 and 16 guests respectively. The tables are covered with crisp white linen cloths and table napkins are … [Read more...]

The Majestic Malacca
I cannot help but be awed by The Majestic Malacca the very first time I set eyes on it. Located at the banks of the Malacca River, the grand white building with green windows is a sight to behold. I felt as if I’ve been transported back in time. As a kid, I used to live in a wooden house with similar windows which creaked every time we pushed them - funny how such bits of memories hit you when triggered by something trivial like wooden windows. But of course the windows here at The Majestic … [Read more...]

You just gotta love Chef Pearl Woo. Chef Pearl Woo in her playground Chef Pearl Woo from Qba Latin Bar & Grill in The Westin Kuala LUmpur is one of the most lovable chefs I’ve met in a long while. The warm, bubbly, chatty and ever-smiling chef makes one feel immediately welcomed and at ease. You can feel the incredible passion oozing out from her when she just can’t wait to tell you all about the food that she’s going to cook and serve you. Passion and commitment must be her middle … [Read more...]
Boston Lobsters, Mooncakes & New Dim Sum – Di Wei @ Empire Subang
I think no one would ever say “No” to a lobster meal, seeing how this highly-prized crustacean is regarded as king and stands proudly at the top of the list of desired seafood. Well, unless you are allergic to seafood, that is. I was told lobsters are actually pretty healthy for the diet; it’s actually lower in cholesterol, calories and healthier than roast beef! If this is not good reason enough to eat lobsters, then I don’t know what is. If you head on over to Di Wei Chinese Cuisine … [Read more...]
Four Points by Sheraton, Sandakan

What more when it’s a chance to visit some of Sandakan’s famous sites, try its popular food and culinary delights but most of all, a chance to check out the Four Points by Sheraton, the only international hotel brand in the city. The skyline of Sandakan’s Central Business District is never the same again since the opening of … [Read more...]

Hotel Equatorial Ho Chi Minh City
When I was booking our airtickets to visit Vietnam, I was debating between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Since we have never been to Vietnam before, actually either city would be fine with us. We decided on HCMC due to its shorter flight time from Kuala Lumpur. Our flight was an early one and we landed in Tan Son Nhat International Airport at just after 8.00am (Vietnam time is 1 hour behind Malaysian time). Our airport pick-up from Hotel Equatorial was all ready for us when we exited … [Read more...]
