With an extensive renovation and refurbishment exercise done, The Ming Room at Bangsar Shopping Centre is now almost double its previous space. Re-opened since July, the intricate and ingenuous design using bamboo elements for its facade and interior is unique and a conversation-starter. The main dining hall is now spacious and diners can be seated comfortably on bright orange chairs against elegant cream-clothed tables. There are also 8 private beautifully-appointed dining rooms for cosy … [Read more...]
Dining-out at CHYNNA, Hilton Kuala Lumpur
With some of the lockdown restrictions being slowly lifted as the community moves on to the next recovery phase, dining out is now allowed. To many F&B establishments and hotels, there must be collective sighs of relief as they see there’s likely to be light at the end of the tunnel. I am selective when it comes to dining-out now, even as we move on to the pandemic recovery phase and resuming as normal a life as can be. DIM SUM at RED Chinese Cuisine, Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre

The striking red and black theme, well, it just strikes me at every direction I turn and those huge posters of oriental women in cheongsam are ever so … [Read more...]
New Menu at FIVE SEN5ES, The Westin Kuala Lumpur
Every time I step into Five Sen5es, the pork-free Chinese restaurant at The Westin Kuala Lumpur, I feel like I’m entering a palatial mansion. Further up the right side of the restaurant, bigger tables are set up by the floor-to-ceiling windows, enabling the whole area to be bathed in glorious natural light. Soothing splashing … [Read more...]
The HAN ROOM – new location at THE GARDENS MALL
The Han Room’s new location at The Gardens is so much more spacious and comfortable, of course. The floor-to-ceiling glass wall at the entrance gives it a lovely “vastness” that allows passers-by to appreciate its chic modern interior. There’s a lot more functional space which allows an even placement of tables, unlike the old location. At one side of the restaurant, there’s space to place some really cosy sofa seats with tables as well as several private rooms. The contemporary … [Read more...]
