Nusa Lembongan is one of 3 small islands in south-east Bali that makes up the Nusa Penida district. It is accessible by speed boat from Sanur, a ride taking about 30 minutes crossing the Badung Straits. With an area of about 8 sq km, Lembongan is surrounded by pristine clear water and white sandy beaches. The population remains small, approximately 10,000 and the majority of the people live in the 3 main villages on the island. Lembongan is a good place to chill out after the hustle and … [Read more...]
Stay: THE CLUB VILLAS; Dine: WAROENG DADONG, Seminyak, Bali
I can never get enough of Bali. Bali’s mystical charm, warm friendly people and intriguing culture have always been beckoning and it’s so easy to get enchanted. In my first trip there this year in May, I had a wonderful time in Ubud and Nusa Dua - read about that here and here. Recently, on my 2nd visit there, I stayed at The Club Villas, right smack in the centre of Seminyak. The Club Villas are one of the properties of Tjendana Villas which own leisure properties all over Bali. The … [Read more...]
DINING AT THE WESTIN RESORT NUSA DUA, BALI
In my earlier post on The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, I promised that I will share with you my dining experiences in this beautiful resort. Offering both indoor and alfresco dining, there are 7 outlets to choose from - each one different and unique in its own way. As we were there for only 2 nights, it wasn’t possible to check out all 7 of their F&B outlets. We only managed to eat at 4 of their main outlets, … [Read more...]
THE WESTIN RESORT NUSA DUA, BALI
Where do I even begin when it comes to The Westin Resort Nusa Dua in Bali? Let me start by saying that our 2-night stay at this fabulous resort was certainly not enough. However, let me share with you what we actually got to experience in this vast resort. Let's check-in! The impressive Main … [Read more...]
DINING AT THE STHALA, UBUD, BALI
In an earlier post, I shared with you our stay at the lovely Sthala, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Ubud, Bali (read about that here). Located amidst a traditional village where art galleries and rice fields rule, the Sthala is a cosy quiet hotel by a river - perfect to unwind, rejuvenate and just be. There are two F&B outlets at the Sthala - the Sungai Restaurant and the Naga Rooftop Bar & Lounge. Upon arrival at the hotel, after checking in, we headed straight to Sungai as we were … [Read more...]
Charmed by STHALA, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, in Ubud, Bali
Bali is one place that one cannot stop re-visiting. In my last trip a couple of years ago, I had briefly visited Ubud and was charmed by the place. As depicted in “Eat, Pray & Love”, the rural rustic setting of Ubud with its terraced rice fields and traditional crafts created by her artistic people had left some memorable impressions in me. I decided then that my next visit to Bali, I’d head to Ubud. After all, it is considered the centre of art and culture in Bali. The chance … [Read more...]
