Day 2 - a Monday - that's the day we went to Hangzhou. It is the capital of Zhejiang province and located 180km southwest of Shanghai - 2 hours' drive away. Before we started the journey, we went looking for some local breakfast. Yon Ho was our choice as it's one of the largest chains of chinese fast food in Shanghai. Yon Ho is also the brandname of a popular soyamilk drink there. The interior was bright and cheerful with some chinese writings on a mirrored wall...My friend CH made the orders … [Read more...]
Shanghai – Day 1
I'm back!A week away in Shanghai - oohhh...so lovely! Lovely weather, lovely food! It's spring now in Shanghai with temperatures ranging from 10-20 deg.C - really pleasant. Just don a light jacket and it's so comfortable, without the heat and humidity we experience here!My flight was at 0140 from KLIA and arrived right on time at 7.00am in Shanghai Pudong Airport. This is the international airport - they have an older airport in Hongchiao which caters mainly to domestic flights. Immigration … [Read more...]

With a gourmand friend there to take us around, I'm sure we can achieve the latter. Can't wait to get out of our blistering weather here and enjoy the coolness in Shanghai, even for just a week or so.Will be back next weekend... and hopefully with some good food stories to tell :-)) … [Read more...]

Pumpkin Seeds
Currently I am addicted to these pumpkin seeds. These are the "green tea" flavoured ones. They have other flavours too, like rose, jasmine or just plain ones. They are not cheap either. A 300g tub of these seeds cost RM15.The seeds are bigger, sweeter and crunchier than the usual other types of seeds and that's why I am so addicted, hehe! Snacking on seeds is healthier, right?! … [Read more...]

Pappa Rich
Pappa RichNo.1 Jalan USJ 10/1DTaipanUEP Subang JayaTel: 03-56367318The mushrooming of kopitiams in the Klang Valley continues... like mushrooms popping up after the rain. Recently, there's the Old Town White Coffee in Kota Kemuning and then there's this Pappa Rich. What a name! Is it owned by a rich pappa? Judging by the crowd there, it's not surprising if that pappa got rich. Or maybe USJ folks just like to throng new joints just like what they say "new toilets laku for 3 days!" (if you … [Read more...]
