A few months ago I blogged about the Curry Laksa in USJ14 in this kopitiam called Mei Sek. This is a corner coffeeshop in the row of shops near the fruit stalls in USJ14. I was told that in the evening, that same kopitiam has a Chicken Rice stall which is very good.So that was how one evening some weeks ago we decided to give the Chicken a try, haha! They start at about 6pm and their serving crew is unmistakable - they have yellow & red uniform - very professional-looking with caps and … [Read more...]
Shivz
Shivz Restaurant64 Jalan MaarofBangsar Baru59100 Kuala LumpurTel: 03 2282 4500I was invited to a private function at this place not too long ago by my friend, Z. I must say I have passed by Jalan Maarof many times but never noticed there's this restaurant there. It's located just a few doors away from Maybank. The interior's rather cosy, romantically lit... walls adorned with abstract paintings. There are some tables at the front - open-air concept for the smokers. Now, for the food... they … [Read more...]
Lammeeya
LammeeyaLot LG 333A, 1 Utama New WingTel: 03-7727 4877As the name indicates, this is a Noodles joint with Lam Mee being their speciality. Lam Mee - noodles in a thick starchy gravy and here in Lammeeya, you can opt to have all kinds of noodles in your bowl.As I generally find the thick yellow noodles too much to handle, I had kway-teow for my Lam Mee choice. At Rm12.80 a set, it's quite a bargain, I would say... because the bowl of Lam Mee served was gargantuan! It was so huge that I really … [Read more...]
Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang
This morning I bought 45 packets of the above Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang.Yes, 45 packs - not for myself lah - but for a breakfast meeting in my office. Some of my colleagues can easily polish off 2-3 packets each. Yes, it is that good! Also, because the packs are rather small lah. It's the regular no-frill basic nasi lemak pack - the best kind (in my books) >>> nasi, sambal, ikan bilis, cucumber& peanuts.So... where did these little packs of banana leaf heaven come from? They are from this … [Read more...]

BestFoodJunction Grand Launch
BestFoodJunction (BFJ) had their grand launch last Thursday - CONGRATULATIONS! This was the first time I attended such an event - the venue was just a hop and a skip away from my office. Besides their magazine, BFJ also has a food site where you can read about meal reviews, do e-reservations with certain outlets, get food vouchers/discounts and a host of other food-related ideas. They featured one of my blog posts some time ago. There were various food tables set up by several outlets … [Read more...]

Ipoh Food Crawl – Day 2
My fridge died on me.Sigh. It has been a good & faithful fridge, serving us for the past 15 years (I think) and I certainly mourn its passing. I think the amount of foodstuff stored in it all these years has finally done it in and it's time to go to fridge heaven.Luckily I have a 2nd smaller fridge... so now that is packed to the brim... plus I have an assortment of other dried foodstuff now all laid out in my kitchen which kinda resembles a mini war zone at the moment.Hopefully the new … [Read more...]
Get Softa-Man today!
I'd just like to post something non-food related here. It's about this worrisome A(H1N1) virus that's becoming quite alarming - what with 1 school in the Klang Valley being closed and the virus becoming "locally-transmitted" now! That's where the danger lies - I mean, you never know when you can be exposed to this risk even though you have not travelled anywhere out of the country! One of the very crucial ways to help prevent any kinda infection is to keep our hands clean and disinfected at all … [Read more...]
Trip planning made easy!
I am so used to the internet these days that I cannot imagine how my life will be affected if suddenly there is no such facility! I mean, blogging has been such fun - whether it's reading other people's blogs or posting your own. Not a day passed by without me clicking on all my regular & favourite blogs and leaving my crappy few cents' worth of thoughts, hehe! Now the other thing I love about the internet is how easy it has made our lives now - especially when I need to source for … [Read more...]
