On days when I’m too lazy to go out for lunch, I turn to comfort food like Instant Noodles! Yes, I know it’s not very healthy… but what to do - once in a while I guess it’s OK to indulge in this little sin. While I’m not a fan of all things Korean, I do find this particular Instant Noodles rather delicious. Nong Shim Korean Claypot Ramyun… always have one of these somewhere in my office drawer... Peel back the cover and this is what you get...Empty the sachet of flavoured granules onto the … [Read more...]

Stuffed Ikan Cencaru
Photo courtesy of WikipediaIkan Cencaru or Torpedo Scad (or more commonly known as Hard Tail Scad) is a common fish found in Malaysian markets. One of the most popular ways of cooking this fish is to stuff it with chilli sambal and fry it.For the Sambal, what you need are Red Chillies, Chilli Padi, Shallots and Belacan. Pound all these together with a teaspoon of salt.Make a deep slit at the back of the fish right towards the stomach. Stuff the sambal into this opening. Don't forget to rub … [Read more...]

Dave’s Deli @ 1U
Dave's Deli has been around the Klang Valley for many years and I'm sure almost everyone knows about them. Now, if you think the food taste the same in every outlet, then you're pretty much wrong. I used to think that too. The menu may be the same but certainly, the portions and taste differ from outlet to outlet. One of the best outlets - in terms of portions and taste, is surely the one in 1 Utama. Compared to other outlets (eg the one in Subang Parade - sucky!), the 1U outlet comes up … [Read more...]
Kluang Station @ 1 Utama
Kluang StationLG-337 New Wing1 Utama Shopping MallBandar UtamaPetaling JayaThere are only a few "upmarket" kopitiams that I really like, around the Klang Valley. The Kluang Station kopitiams, which sprouted from the original dilapidated kopitiam in Kluang are a far cry from the parent. The Kluang Stations around here are housed mainly in shopping malls.I like Kluang Station mainly for their Iced Kopi. The local brew is really "khau" enough, not too sweet and tastes absolutely refreshingly … [Read more...]
Bumbu Bali – Part 2
Since the first post I did on Bumbu Bali, we have been back there again. Besides the Nasi Campur which LL absolutely loved & had to order again, we tried their Grilled Lamb Chop (RM23.50). 2 huge pieces of shoulder chops were served with fries, a separate bowl of salad, a huge piece of watermelon and a bowl of their special Bumbu gravy. The lamb has been marinated with some spices, black pepper and grilled to perfection with a hint of lemongrass. The fragrant gravy had mixed flavours of … [Read more...]
