Truth be told - I never knew how wonderful the avocado really is. That is, not until I had an educational afternoon recently when Euro-Atlantic together with Agri-Science Queensland (Department of Employment, Economic Development & Innovation) in partnership with The Avocado Export Company organized a session to introduce this nutritious fruit. The event was held at the Berjaya University College of Hospitality. The avocado is one of the most nutrient-rich energy-dense fruit … [Read more...]

Songkran Feast @ Erawan Classic Thai & Fusion
The Thais celebrate Songkran as their traditional New Year's Day. While the date of Songkran used to be set by astrological calculation, it is now celebrated from 13-15 April. The festival is usually associated with the throwing of water on people (at least that's how I always associate it!) - this originated from the pouring of "blessed" water, ie water that has been used to cleanse Buddhas. It is a mark of respect and good fortune as this "blessed" water is poured over the shoulders. … [Read more...]
Noodles Party @ Chef Choi’s
Let me tell you something: I love my noodles, I do. I'd go for noodles, any time, over rice. I called ahead to book and made sure we were there early. When we sat down, I confidently gave our orders, based on what WMW has recommended. Now, this was when this amusing exchange … [Read more...]
Baking Pies @ The Food Studio is great fun!
The first thing that struck me about The Food Studio is that...man, that's my Dream Kitchen! I love those overhanging steel shelves - I want my pots and pans to hang above the island in my kitchen too. Looking at this very professional kitchen at The Food Studio just reinforces that I need to get cracking on those ceiling-hanging shelves. Tucked away in the quiet hilly enclave of Amarin Kiara, The Food Studio offers a variety of culinary events, ranging from demos, gourmet cooking … [Read more...]

Celestial Court, that elegant classy Chinese restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel has long been a favourite stop-over for meals for busy executives. By virtue of its location in the business district of Jalan Sultan Ismail, Celestial Court enjoys good patronage not only because of this strategic address, but also because their reputation for fine pork-free Chinese fare has tantalised many a palate.
