Among its numerous F&B outlets, Vogue Cafe at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel is one outlet that’s going to showcase a tasty tribute to Christmas and New Year from 24 December 2015 to 1 January 2016. It’s not going to be a crazy extensive buffet but whatever that are served will truly reflect the culinary spirit of the festive season.
It’s a time for celebration as the year draws to a close, a time to spend with loved ones and Vogue Café is the place to relish in Western favorites and signature regional specials. There are the usual array of freshly broiled seafood on ice – the crayfish we had were really fresh and sweet. Besides these, there’s a decent selection of cheeses, salads, smoked meats, fresh breads and soups to get the appetite going.

Highlights of the buffet include the perennial whole roasted turkey with stuffing and the accompanying trimmings as well as cranberry & giblet sauce, roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, cod in mustard sauce and several other hot items.

Local cuisines are also on the buffet – we had ayam goreng berempah, lamb masala, beef curry, Chinese vegetarian prawns, seafood rolls and braised duck. The pasta station cooks up your choice of pasta a la minute so there’s always something piping hot to fill the tummies.
No one can resist the desserts counter, for sure. The bright cheerful colours of festive sweets are irresistible. You will have a hard time choosing between chocolate cherry Yule Logs, tiramisu, tortes, cute cupcakes, Christmas cookies gaily decorated with Santas and reindeers and a lot more. Did I mention there’s also a chocolate fountain there?

With something for everyone and not too huge a selection, it makes for a very good reason to celebrate the season at this cosy cafe in Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel on a more intimate level with friends and family. I mean, if you wish to avoid the crowds at the bigger venues and just have a quieter time catching up with loved ones accompanied by some good festive eats, Vogue Cafe would be a nice choice.
