Too bad about the curry mee…but the suckling pig looks darn good!!

    Hungry already… *faster close PureGlutton's window* =P

  2. Sugar Bean says

There're good stuff and bad stuff that you tried. The burger, though looking a little miserable, appeals to me, looks delicious!

aiyyoo.. so disappointed too to hear tht all these old institution in Ipoh now gettin commercialized n compromising on quality now. sighh.. Pg also like tht now.

  4. Life for Beginners says

Ooh, that's the lil Piggy that went to market… and then straight down the bellies of some hearty, hungry folks on a food crawl! 😉

  5. SimpleGirl says

wow…..all the nice Ipoh food in one post…..brr….made me feel like having them….frankly, even though i am in ipoh, long time didn't eat taugeh chicken already

  6. Christy says

Frankly, I could die if I were to go on so such a food crawl…haha, I think I'd have given up halfway:p

But that's a lot of food; and you gotta give it to good and bad food all in one:p

When is your Penang food crawl coming? =)

  7. Pureglutton says

nomad: ya lor – very sad! These famous eating places let their quality deteriorate and let their image rot.

  8. Pureglutton says

SimpleGirl: That's always the case – ppl who have the good stuff at their doorstep seldom bother lor, LOL!

  9. Pureglutton says

Christy: That was just Day 1, haha! Still have Day 2 to contend with. But there were several of us, and we shared all the food – so it looked like MORE food than eaters, i know!

Ahh…Penang! Must get some others to go/join la – anyone interested??

A+ for adventure and B for food? I am disappointed about Kong Heng's food after hearing from you. The 12 – 2pm and 6-8pm band is the best time for food I guess as this is Ipoh not KL:)

  11. ck lam says

That's a good food crawl, at least it is for the latter part of the day. My Ipoh makan list is getting longer and longer…haha

  12. PureGlutton says

Tummythoz: It was not that bad – it just started out not-so-good for lunch but from dinner onwards, it was pretty OK!

  13. PureGlutton says

ck lam: Yeah, maybe u need to spend MORE days in ipoh now! Too much food, too little time – that's always my complaint, lol!

  14. jason says

I think most places serve the sar-kok-fu-pei cold except those yong tau foo place.

I never been to Kong Heng for sometime after I found the satay and popiah's quality dropped.

  15. Hazza says

From the other side of the world, ALL those dishes looked lovely. I would swap dining places anytime!
