I love reality tv shows, particularly the culinary kind. My 2 top favourites are "Masterchef Australia" and "Top Chef" and I try not to miss a single episode of those... and even if I did, there are always repeats! So, imagine my excitement when I learned that the Asian Food Channel (AFC), in collaboration with the Eastern & Oriental Bhd group (E&O) will be bringing us its first-ever reality television series called the “E&O Search for AFC’s Next Celebrity Chef”. Joining AFC … [Read more...]

HK Food Trail: Pt.4 – Shatin Pigeons
I am still paying penance for this meal. We had this sin-laden meal for supper. I'm not sure about the name of this place (it's written in Chinese) - the locals refer to it as "Foh Tharn" (literally translated as "charcoal"!) but the cab driver knew it well enough and deposited us right in front of this hawker centre-like place. There are about 6-7 stalls located in that row... and I was told all of them serve the same kinda dishes, more or less. Of course the main attraction here is there … [Read more...]
Cremonini, Don Pomodoro, Idahoan: Great Food Delights for you!
Euro-Atlantic Sdn Bhd recently launched Cremonini Olive Oil, Don Pomodoro Pasta sauce from Italy and Idahoan Dehydrated Potato from the USA at a dinner in Social@KL, GTower, Kuala Lumpur. Cremonini Olive Oil is produced in Italy in a time-honoured tradition that dates back more than 50 years. Casa Cremonini was started in Oliveti near Bologna in Italy, by Guiseppe Cremonini , who … [Read more...]
What’s Dish @ Dua Annexe dishing up next?
DISH - Delicious Ingredients Steak House. The dining section of Dish is just behind Delicious Ingredients - unpretentious modern simple set-up, a perfect foil for the fine dishes they serve. You don't need to dress up yet the food served here is of "fine dining" concept. Quite unorthodox. In Dish, it's All About The Beef. And they have a certain philosophy about their Beef, too... like how thick the steak should be cut? Take a look... Having been established in that "embassy … [Read more...]
328 Katong Laksa
We made a short trip down south to Singapore a couple of weekends ago. It was almost a "Touch & Go" trip... we were there to watch the Lion King musical (which was totally so enjoyable!) and the rest of the time was just to eat and shop. As we were staying with my good friend CH who graciously hosted us at her lovely condo in Amber Gardens, we just had to walk over to East Coast Road where a few of Singapore's famous Katong Laksa outlets were located. It was a 12-minute walk from the … [Read more...]
Tang Shifu @ 1-Utama
Being a bit under the weather recently, I'm glad I chanced upon this restaurant located in the New Wing of 1 Utama. The name "Tang Shifu" translates directly to "Soup Master", so it doesn't take much to decipher that this restaurant's forte lies in its nutritious and nourishing soups. Their food philosophy rests very much on using the freshest and highest quality ingredients with no preservatives. Lots of Chinese herbs are used and they all help in balancing the yin and yang of our bodily needs. … [Read more...]
